These beautiful kimonos are a symbol of empowerment for you, and the women who took part in making them.
The revenue from this kimono can provide one woman with the funds and resources to start her own artisan business and create a life of her own!
These kimonos are made from recycled Saaris in partnership with Peace of Thread, an artisan group that empowers refugee women by teaching them sewing and design skills.
First, the saaris were stitched by the Thar Artisan Collective, creating the wavy lines of the Kantha "running stitch", and Indian tradition. Then, they were sewn into kimonos by the women of Peace of Thread.
These kimonos help empower two groups of artisan women!
*Due to the natural technique of tie-dying, variations in color and pattern are expected, and what make these unique scarves so beautiful!
Every penny you spend in our shop creates water security in villages in the desert that need it most.
